Municipal real estate, managed and owned by citizens?
Arie Lengkeek and Maurice Specht wrote an essay, supported by LSA, about municipal real estate as crucial to help us move beyond the logic of the market. Real estate is essential for most citizen initiatives, yet more often than not it is impossible to obtain.
With this event, we want to engage in an open dialogue about the social value of municipal real estate. Can we empower a social solidarity economy by taking ownership of the real estate?
We want to explore the different scenarios for citizens and to investigate when collectively managed or owned real estate offers an opportunity and under which conditions this offers benefits for the collective.
