Feminization of Politics Workshop [in Serbo-Croatian]
All across Europe, municipalist movements have rethought local governance and community engagement, by innovating institutions along with paradigms of care, social justice, participatory democracy, and inclusion.
These claims cannot but be connected to feministisation of politics, understood as the ability of political organisations of engaging with feminist values, in the mission and values that they declare, in the policies that they propose, and in the practices of governance and political actions that they undertake.

Feministisation of politics is an answer to the need of concrete alternatives to patriarchal social and economic approaches, based on extractivism and exploitation of humans, non humans and environment in general.
On May 21th 2021 we are organising a workshop to provide an opportunity for local organisations to reflect on the feministisation of their practices and undertake moments for practical work on the topic. The workshop also aims to provide participants with tools, strategy, and practices that participants can bring back to their organisations in order to counter remaining patriarchal structures and behaviours in their political processes.
The workshop will discuss methodologies elaborated by Feministisation of Politics collective (FoP), a Europe-wide alliance of non-male persons active in different European municipalist movements.
Up until today, the research of FoP brought forth a toolkit encompassing various areas of analysis. The toolkit addresses the question of how feminist principles are integrated into concrete, practical, measures at individual and movement level: from tools for assemblies to practices of collaboration, distribution of resources, selection of apical positions, etc.
The local organiser is Ne Davimo Beograd (NDB; Dont Let Belgrade D(r)own), a local political movement gathering large numbers of city dwellers interested in improving the living and working conditions of all citizens of Belgrade: improving, conserving, and lawfully using common and natural resources, building democratic institutions, sustainable urban development, urban and cultural policies and incorporating citizens into the development of their environment.
The workshop was designed in collaboration with the Feminisation of Politics Collective and the European Municipalist Network. The keynote speaker from the Feministisation of Politics Collective will be Natalija Stojmenović (NDB).
