Post-pandemic EU recovery funds and what they mean for local activists
What opportunities does the Polish recovery plan offer to cities and local initiatives? Could it offer more? How did it give rise to a massive mobilisation of civil society actors demanding to have a say?
In two mini-presentations Karolina Dreszer of OFOP and Izabela Zygmunt of Wise Europa will present the state of play regarding Poland’s National Recovery Plan, the next steps and possible avenues for local actors to get involved.
Karolina Dreszer-Smalec is the president of OFOP, an independent, apolitical umbrella organisation of civil society groups in Poland, which provides a shared platform of action for more than 1 million activists and works on a range of topics including transparency and democratic access to European funds.
Izabela Zygmunt is a climate and energy analyst at Wise Europa, an independent think-tank specialising in European and foreign policy and economics, whose mission is to improve policy making by promoting sound economic and institutional analysis, independent research and evidence-based policy.
Speakers:
Izabela Zygmunt (WISE Europa)
Iwona Janicka (National Federation of Polish NGOs)
