Europe is disintegrating and losing its soul: DiEM25 is born to stop this process, and to enable us, the Europeans, to regain democratic political control over the decisions that affect us. Our future depends on it: we need a Europe that is united for real, under a sovereign Parliament, and not a collation of States united by a bunch of treaties which are one-sidedly economic and highly non-democratic. The current ‘poly-crisis’ of the EU is primarily due to the absence of a democratic Constitution which can only be confronted by means of a citizen-driven reform process. 

Thus, an European Constitutional process is essential for the very survival of Europe: but how will we get here? We don’t have all the answers to this question, but we have some: we know that it has to be done through real citizens’ involvement, and we know that the municipalist perspective is essential for it. About DiEM25: this is a pan-European movement of democrats, united under the conclusion that the European Union will only survive if it is radically transformed. Europe is currently suffering from five crises: debt, banks, poverty, low investment and migration. DiEM25 is the infrastructure which European democrats of all political persuasions will use in order to develop common answers to these crises. The long-term vision is for Europeans to write a democratic constitution for the EU.
